Legalities
Regarding the legal aspects of your wedding/partnership, as an Agnostic Celebrant, I can apply for authorisation to conduct the legal aspects of your ceremony three months prior to your ceremony date. Agnostic Scotland has been approved as a provider of legal weddings by the National Records Scotland Office so this application is a formality and it should be a straightforward process. Please note that the Registry Office and not the Celebrant, manage this process with you.
The requirements for you both, once authorisation is granted, would then be :
– You must complete your marriage or civil partnership Notice to the Registrar at least 29 days prior to your ceremony date (but earlier is better).
– Before your wedding day, you must collect the marriage/CP Schedule from the Registry Office and bring this to your wedding. The legal aspect of the ceremony can not go ahead without the Marriage/CP Schedule.
– As part of your ceremony, we can then include the signing of the Marriage/CP Schedule. This requires the signature from two witnesses over the age of 16 and you both.
– Following the ceremony, you must return the Marriage/CP Schedule to the Registry Office within 3 days for them to officially register the Marriage/CP.
– Additional requirements are needed for non-British residents.

What Is In A Name ?
A sound in the air, no more, and yet it carries far. Those who name the child they bring into this world have hopes and dreams they want the child to claim. A place among us, and a life to live, with all that life can bring, both joy and strife. A name is more than just a sound, it is a promise, a gift, a bond between the child and those who love him. It is a link to the past, a bridge to the future.
So let us welcome this new child to our world, and give them the chosen name, with love, hope and dreams for his future. We wish for them a life of joy, of love, of peace, and of success. We know that they will face challenges, but we also know that they has the strength to overcome them, to achieve great things. So, let us celebrate their name and all that it holds.

Planning a funeral often brings up two main choices: a religious service or a humanist ceremony. But there’s a beautiful alternative – a celebrant-led service. We create personalised tributes that celebrate the entirety of a life, weaving together spirituality, religion, and treasured memories.
Our crafted funeral and memorial services are unique and heartfelt, designed to honour the person who mattered most. We focus on what made them special, ensuring a cathartic and unforgettable experience for everyone who loved them.
